Our Story
How It All Began
Special Events 4 Special Kids was born from a simple idea: every child deserves the chance to have fun, feel included, and just be a kid - regardless of their abilities or diagnosis.
In 2016, our founder saw that many families of children with special needs felt isolated from typical community events. Activities were often too loud, too crowded, or simply not designed with their kids in mind. So we set out to change that - one event at a time.
What started as a single holiday party has grown into a nonprofit organization that has hosted over 70 events, all completely free for families. Today, SE4SK continues to bring joy to children aged 3-19 across southern New Jersey.

From a single event to a thriving nonprofit - here's how SE4SK has grown over the years.
2016
The First Event
SE4SK hosted its very first event - a holiday party for children with special needs. The response from families was overwhelming and confirmed the need for inclusive, free events in the community.
2017
Growing the Mission
Encouraged by the community's response, SE4SK expanded to multiple events throughout the year - including sensory-friendly outings and seasonal celebrations.
2018
Official 501(c)(3) Status
SE4SK was officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN-84-2701078), making donations tax-deductible and opening the door to grants and sponsorships.
2019
Expanding Our Reach
With a growing volunteer base and community sponsors, SE4SK was able to host larger events and reach more families across Camden and Gloucester counties.
2020
Adapting Through Challenges
When the pandemic made in-person events impossible, SE4SK pivoted to virtual activities and home-based kits - ensuring no child was left out, even during the toughest times.
2021-2022
Stronger Than Ever
As the world reopened, SE4SK came back with more events, more volunteers, and more energy than ever. Families returned eager to reconnect, and new families discovered us for the first time.
2023-Present
Continuing the Legacy
With over 70 events hosted and counting, SE4SK continues to grow - adding new event types, building partnerships, and reaching more families who need us most.
